HOLY WEEK 2026

Feast of St. Joseph

Feast of St. Joseph
Celebrated at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation, Jaipur Diocese

The Feast of St. Joseph was celebrated with great reverence at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation on 19th March. A large number of parishioners participated in the celebration, despite it being a working day.
In preparation for the feast, a daily Novena to St. Joseph was conducted. On the feast day, the Novena and the Litany of St. Joseph were prayerfully recited, followed by the Eucharistic celebration.
The Eucharist was presided over by Rev. Fr. Siby Mathew, the Associate Parish Priest, and the homily was delivered by Rev. Fr. Vinod Kujur, Vice Rector of Maria Sadan Seminary, Jaipur Diocese. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Melwin D’Souza, and the Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Paulachan, were also present.
At the beginning of the Eucharist, a brief introduction highlighted the significant role of St. Joseph as the head and protector of the Holy Family. Keeping this theme in mind, after the homily, all the heads of families were invited to the foot of the altar to receive a special blessing, invoking upon them the protection and intercession of St. Joseph.
At the conclusion of the Mass, a token memento was presented to each head of the family, followed by a group photograph. The celebration continued with a beautiful hymn of praise in honour of St. Joseph.
After the Mass, birthday and feast day celebrants were greeted and felicitated with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony. The feast day celebrations concluded with parishioners coming together to share and enjoy delicious payasam—a fittingly sweet ending to a day dedicated to the beloved patron saint of families, St. Joseph.
The St. Joseph Zone expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Melwin D’Souza, for his constant support and encouragement.
